Which of the following commodities comprised the highest percentage share in India’s export in 2021-22?
Answer & explanation
Correct answer: option 4
The correct answer is Option (4) → Manufactured Goods
The table of the composition of India’s exports gives each group’s share. In 2021-22, manufactured goods made up 67.8 per cent of exports, far ahead of crude and petroleum products (16.4) and agriculture and allied products (11.9). Non-ferrous metals are part of India’s imports, not one of its export groups.

In export the share of agriculture and allied products and manufactured goods have decreased, whereas, share from crude petroleum and products and other commodities have increased. The share of ore and minerals have largely remained constant over the years from 2015-16 to 2021-22. The decline in traditional items is largely due to the tough international competition. Amongst the agriculture products, there is a decline in the export of traditional item, such as cashew, etc., though an increase has been registered in floricultural products, fresh fruits, marine products and sugar, etc. Manufacturing sector alone accounted for 67.8 per cent of India’s total value of export in 2021-22.…”
