Question:

If P(A) = 0.6, P(B) = 0.5 and P(B/A) = 0.3 then P(A∩B) will be-

Options:

0.15

0.25

0.18

0.28

Correct Answer:

0.18

Explanation:

We have P(A) = 0.6, P(B) = 0.5 and P(B/A) = 0.3

We know that P(BIA) = P(A∩B)/ P(A)

                       ⇒  0.3 = P(A∩B)/ 0.6

                       ⇒  P(A∩B)= 0.6x0.3

                       ⇒  P(A∩B)= 0.18
