In a right triangle, length of the hypotenuse is 17 cm. If length of its one side is 15 cm, then the area of the triangle is:

We know that,

H² = B² + P²

H = 17

B = 15

Then , 17² = 15² + P²

P² = 289 - 225

P = 8
