Question:

If the radius of the circle is 42 cm and the angle formed at the centre by an are is 150o. What is the length of the corresponding are?

Options:

66  cm

77 cm

110 cm

55 cm

Correct Answer:

110 cm

Explanation:

We know that,

Length of the arc (l) = 2πr × \(\frac{ θ }{360}\)

We have,

The angle formed by arc at the centre = 150°

Radius of the circle (r) = 42 cm

Length of the arc = 2π × 42 × \(\frac{ θ }{360}\)

= 2 × \(\frac{ 22 }{7}\) × 42 × \(\frac{ 5 }{12}\) = 22 × 5 = 110 cm
