Study the following table and answer the question:-

Numbers of students appeared (A) and passed (P) in an annual examination from four schools P, Q, R and S in five years (2014 to 2018).

The difference between the average no. of students passed from school Q in 2015 to 2017 and the no. of passed students from school P in 2015 is x.  Find the value of x.

Total students passed from Q in 2015 to 2017 = 285 + 288 + 294 = 867

Average = \(\frac{867}{3}\) = 289

The no. of students passed from P in 2015 is = 320

x = 320 - 289 = 31
