Match List-I with List-II:
| List-I (Duct) | List-II (Position / connection) |
| A. Rete testis | I. Ascends to the abdomen and loops over the urinary bladder |
| B. Epididymis | II. Opens into the urethra after receiving the duct from the seminal vesicle |
| C. Vas deferens | III. Connects the seminiferous tubules of the testis to the vasa efferentia |
| D. Ejaculatory duct | IV. Located along the posterior surface of each testis |
Choose the correct answer from the options given below:
Answer & explanation
Correct answer: option 1
The correct answer is Option (1) → A-III, B-IV, C-I, D-II
(A) Rete testis — this matches (III) Connects the seminiferous tubules of the testis to the vasa efferentia. Sperms formed in the seminiferous tubules pass first into the rete testis, which leads them on to the vasa efferentia.
(B) Epididymis — this matches (IV) Located along the posterior surface of each testis. The vasa efferentia leave the testis and open into the epididymis, which lies along the back of the testis.
(C) Vas deferens — this matches (I) Ascends to the abdomen and loops over the urinary bladder. It carries the sperms from the epididymis up into the abdomen, and Figure 2.1(b) shows it curving over the bladder.
(D) Ejaculatory duct — this matches (II) Opens into the urethra after receiving the duct from the seminal vesicle. The vas deferens is joined by the duct of the seminal vesicle, and the joint duct, the ejaculatory duct, opens into the urethra.

The Male Reproductive System – “… The male sex accessory ducts include rete testis, vasa efferentia, epididymis and vas deferens (Figure 2.1b). The seminiferous tubules of the testis open into the vasa efferentia through rete testis. The vasa efferentia leave the testis and open into epididymis located along the posterior surface of each testis. The epididymis leads to vas deferens that ascends to the abdomen and loops over the urinary bladder. It receives a duct from seminal vesicle and opens into urethra as the ejaculatory duct (Figure 2.1a). These ducts store and transport the sperms from the testis to the outside through urethra.”
