Explanation:

Caveat Emptor: It is a Latin phrase that is translated as “let the buyer beware.” It means that an individual buys at their own risk.

Ratio decidendi (Latin plural rationes decidendi) is a Latin phrase meaning "the reason" or "the rationale for the decision".

The term ‘Stare Decisis originates from Latin. It means ‘to abide by things decided.’ The doctrine of Stare Decisis is used by all courts in all cases/legal issues. For instance, if the Supreme Court passes a judgement and it becomes a precedent, then as per the doctrine of Stare Decisis, the lower courts must follow such a judgement.

The Latin Maxim “Locus Standi” consists of two words namely “locus” which means place and “standi” means the right to bring an action. So, collectively, it means the right to appear or the right to bring an action before the court. As per this maxim, one person needs to show his legal capacity before approaching the court. It means the person can only approach the court when his personal interest is suffered or an injury is inflicted upon him. This maxim is one of the fundamental principles of the adversarial litigation system.
