Question:

The area of a triangle whose perimeter is 36 cm and length of two sides is 17 cm and 9 cm will be:

Options:

32 cm2

2.33 cm2

3.36 cm2

4.35 cm2

Correct Answer:

3.36 cm2

Explanation:

Length of third side = 36 - 17 - 9 = 10 cm

We know that ,

Area of Triangle = \(\sqrt {S(S-a)(S-b)(S-c) }\)

(  Where , S is semi perimeter )

= \(\sqrt {18 (18-17)(18-9)(18-10) }\)

= \(\sqrt {18 × 1 × 9 × 8 }\)

= \(\sqrt {1296 }\)

= 36 cm²
