Question:

By purchasing Rs 50 gas shares for Rs 80 each, a man gets 4% profit on his investment. What rate percent is company paying ? What is his dividend if he buys 200 shares ?

Options:

₹640

₹635

₹645

₹650

Correct Answer:

₹640

Explanation:

The correct answer is option (1) : ₹640

Let the company be paying x% on ₹ 50 shares

According to given,

x% of ₹50 = 4% of ₹ 80

$\frac{x}{100}×50=\frac{4}{100}×80$

$x= 6.4$

Dividend on 1 share of ₹50 = $₹\left(\frac{6.4}{100}₹50\right)= 3.2 $

∴Dividend on 200 shares of $₹50 = ₹ (3.2×200)= ₹640$
