Let the length of the train be x

Speed = $\frac{x }{8 }$ ---------1st equation

Speed = $\frac{\text{x + 264} }{20}$ ---------2nd equation

From the above equations, it can be deduced that:

$\frac{x }{8 }$ = $\frac{\text{x + 264} }{20}$

2.5x = x + 264

1.5x = 264

x = 176 m
