Speed = \(\frac{Distance }{Time }\)

Let the length of the train be x

Speed = \(\frac{x }{8 }\) ---------1st equation

Speed = \(\frac{\text{x + 264} }{20}\) ---------2nd equation

From the above equations, it can be deduced that:

\(\frac{x }{8 }\) = \(\frac{\text{x + 264} }{20}\)

2.5x = x + 264

1.5x = 264

x = 176 m
