Area bound by three arcs = area of triangle - (3 × sector area)

                                     = $\frac{\sqrt {3}}{4}$ (side)² - 3 × ($\frac{60}{360} \pi$(1)²)

                                     = $\frac{\sqrt {3}}{4}$ × 4 - 3 × ($\frac{1}{6} \pi$ )

                                     = ($\sqrt {3} - \frac{\pi}{2}$) cm²
