Question:

The area of a table top in the shape of an equilateral triangle is $9\sqrt{3}$ cm2. What is the length (in cm) of each side of the table?

Options:

6

2

4

3

Correct Answer:

6

Explanation:

We know that,

Area of a equilateral triangle = \(\frac{\sqrt {3}}{4}\) × (side)2

The area of a table top in the shape of an equilateral triangle = 9\(\sqrt {3}\) cm2

According to the question

= \(\frac{\sqrt {3}}{4}\) × (side)2= 9√3

= side 2 = (4 × 9)

= side 2 = 36 = 6 cm
