Question:

\(\frac{x}{3}\) + 1 = \(\frac{-3}{x}\) find x5 - 26x2 + 3x + 14

Options:

20

0

5

4

Correct Answer:

5

Explanation:

\(\frac{x}{3}+1 = \frac{-3}{x}\), \(\frac{x}{3}+\frac{3}{x}\) = -1, x2 + 3x = -9

we know that if x + \(\frac{1}{x}\) = -1

then x3 = 1

so, \(\frac{x}{3}+\frac{3}{x}\) = -1

\( { \left(\frac{x}{3}\right) }^{3 } \) = 1

x3 = 27

Put in find

x2(x3 - 26) + 3x + 14

x2(27 - 26) + 3x + 14

x2 + 3x + 14

-9 + 14  (∵ x+ 3x = -9)
