Question:

The area of a triangle is 96 cm2 and the length of one of its sides is 24 cm. What is the length of the perpendicular drawn to this side of the triangle from the opposite vertex?

Options:

16 cm

8 cm

4 cm

12 cm

Correct Answer:

8 cm

Explanation:

We know that,

\(\frac{1}{2}\) × Base × Height

We have,

The area of a triangle = 96 cm

The length of one of its sides = 24 cm.

96 = \(\frac{1}{2}\) × 24 × H

= 96 = 12 × H

= H = 8 cm
