Note: This question is based on the pre-rationalised NCERT textbook, which contains a factual error. The table in the book incorrectly shows Europe as having a larger area than Northern America. In reality, Northern America is significantly larger than Europe. Therefore, based on accurate geographical data, the correct increasing order of continents by area is: Europe, North America, Africa and Asia corresponding to ADCB. However, since the question is taken directly from the NCERT book, the NTA has marked Option 2 (D), (A), (C), (B) as the correct answer.
