The average age of 45 persons is decreased by \(\frac{1}{9}\) year when one of them of 60 years is replaced by a new person. Then the age of the new person is :

55 years

Age of old person = 60 years

Total age decreased by = 45 × \(\frac{1}{9}\) = 5 years

It means the new person is 5 years younger than the old person.

Hence, age of New person = 60 - 5 = 55 years
