6 men and 13 women can complete a work in 20 days whereas 5 men and 8 women can complete it in 30 days. To complete the same work in 17 days, how many women should assist 9 men?

          12 M + 26 W = 15 M + 24 w

                      3 M = 2 W

Total work = (6 × 2 + 13 × 3) × 20 = 1020

To complete it in 17 days with 9 men required women

           ⇒ 1020 = 17 (9 × 2 + 3W)

              18 + 3W = 60

                      3W = 42
