In a race of 1 km, A gives B starting lead of 40 m and to C starting lead of 70 m. Find starting lead that B can give to C in same race? |
30 m 31\(\frac{3}{4}\) m 31\(\frac{1}{4}\) m 32 m |
31\(\frac{1}{4}\) m |
Distance covered :- A : B : C 1000 : (1000-40) : (1000-70) 1000 : 960 : 930 ⇓ ⇓ diff. = 30 Hence, In 960 meter race →B gives 30 meter start to C, and In 1000 meter race B gives → \(\frac{30}{960}\) × 1000 = 31\(\frac{1}{4}\) meter start to C. |
