Question:

The base of a triangle is 16 cm and its area is 144 cm2. Find its corresponding height, with respect to the given base.

Options:

18 cm

9 cm

24 cm

12 cm

Correct Answer:

18 cm

Explanation:

We know that,

Area of a triangle = \(\frac{1}{2}\) × base × height

We have,

The base of a triangle = 16 cm

 and its area = 144 cm2

\(\frac{1}{2}\) × 16 × height = 144

= 8 × height = 144

= height = 18
