Question:

If A and B are two independent events with P(A) =0.3 and P(B) = 0.4 then the value of P(BIA) is equal to-

Options:

0.4

0.3

0.2

0.6

Correct Answer:

0.4

Explanation:

We have P(A) =0.3 and P(B) = 0.4

We know that P(BIA) = P(A∩B)/ P(A)

Since A and B are two independent events so,

P(A∩B) = P(A).P(B)

           = 0.3x 0.4

          = 0.12

Hence P(BIA) = (0.12)/0.3

                    = 0.4
