A train moves at the speed of 80 km/h and crosses a platform in 0.75 minutes. If the length of the train is equal to the length of the platform, then what is the length of the platform?

Options:

400 m

500 m

Explanation:

Given :-

Speed of train = 80 km/h

80 km/h = 80 × \(\frac{5}{18}\) m/sec

Time = 0.75 minutes = 45 seconds

Distance = Speed × Time

= 80 × \(\frac{5}{18}\) × 45 = 1000 m

According to question ,

Length of platform = Length of Train

Let length of train = D

So , 2D = 1000 m

D = 500 m

So , Length of platform = 500 m
