The length of one of the diagonals of a rhombus is 48 cm. If the side of the rhombus is 26 cm, then what is the area of the rhombus? |
540 cm2 420 cm2 360 cm2 480 cm2 |
480 cm2 |
We have, The diagonals of a rhombus = 48 cm The side of the rhombus = 26 cm We know that, d12 + d22 = 4a2, (where d1 and d2 are the diagonals of rhombus and a is the side) = 482 + d22 = 4 × 262 = d22 = 2704 – 2304 = d2 = 20 Now, the area of rhombus = \(\frac{1}{2}\) × d1 × d2 = \(\frac{1}{2}\) × 48 × 20 = 480cm2 |
