Question:

When 50% of a number A is added to B, the second number B increases by 25%. The ratio between the numbers A and B is:

Options:

3 : 2

2 : 3

1 : 2

3 : 4

Correct Answer:

1 : 2

Explanation:

25% = \(\frac{1}{4}\) & 50% = \(\frac{1}{2}\)

ATQ,

\(\frac{1}{2}\) × A + B = \(\frac{5}{4}\) × B

\(\frac{A}{2}\) = \(\frac{5B}{4}\) - B

A = \(\frac{1}{2}\) × B

So ,  A  :   B  = 1 : 2
