Question:

An oil merchant has 3 varieties of oil of volumes 432, 594 and 702 respectively. The number of cans of equal size that would be required to fill the oil separately is:

Options:

13, 15, 17

8, 11, 13

8, 13, 15

6, 9, 11

Correct Answer:

8, 11, 13

Explanation:

Firstly we have to find out the HCF of the given numbers.

 So,the HCF of 432, 594 and 702 is 54.

Number of cans of equal size to fill the 432 litres of oil =  \(\frac{432}{54}\)  = 8

Number of cans of equal size to fill the 594 litres of oil =  \(\frac{594}{54}\)   = 11

Number of cans of equal size to fill the 702 litres of oil =  \(\frac{702}{54}\)   = 13

The number of cans of equal size that would be required to fill the oil separately is: (8, 11, 13)
