Question:

A person has to travel a distance of 30 km. He finds that he has covered $\frac{5}{6}$ of the distance in 3 hours and 20 minutes. what is his speed in km/h?

Options:

6.3

6

5.4

7.5

Correct Answer:

7.5

Explanation:

According to question ,

3 hr 20 min = 3 + \(\frac{20}{60}\) = 3 +  \(\frac{1}{3}\) = \(\frac{10}{3}\)

Total distance = 30 km

\(\frac{5}{6}\)th of the distance = 30 × \(\frac{5}{6}\) = 25 km

Speed of the person =  \(\frac{25 × 3}{10}\) = 7.5 km/hr

So , Speed is 7.5 km/hr
