Question:

A and B spend 60% and 75% of their incomes, respectively. If the savings of A are 20% more than that of B. then by what percentage is the income of A less than the income of B?

Options:

15

20

10

25

Correct Answer:

25

Explanation:

60% = \(\frac{3}{5}\) , 75% = \(\frac{3}{4}\) & 20% = \(\frac{1}{5}\)

Let the income of A = 100x & Income of B = 100y

ATQ,

\(\frac{2}{5}\)× 100x =  \(\frac{1}{4}\) × \(\frac{6}{5}\) × 100y

40x = 30y

x : y = 3 : 4

Income of A is less than that of B by =  \(\frac{(400-300)}{400}\) × 100

= 25%
