The incomes of Ram and Shyam are in the ratio 5 : 4 and their expenditures are in the ratio 4 : 3 . If each save Rs.1500, then what are their incomes?

Let Income of Ram & Shyam = 5R & 4R

ATQ,

⇒ \(\frac{5R - 1500}{4R - 1500}\) = \(\frac{4}{3}\)

⇒ 15R - 4500 = 16R - 6000

⇒ R = 1500

Now,

Income of Ram = 5 × 1500 = 7500/-,

Income of Shyam = 4 × 1500 = 6000/-
