A statue of Varaha or the boar avatar of Vishnu has been found at Aihole in Karnataka.
The Varaha avatar is one of the ten avatars (incarnations) of Lord Vishnu in Hinduism. In this particular form, Lord Vishnu takes the shape of a boar (Varaha). The most well-known episode associated with the Varaha avatar is the rescue of the Earth (personified as the goddess Bhudevi) from the demon Hiranyaksha.
