There are 3 triangles in this part = ABD, ADC, ABC

In  total, there will be 3 x 4 = 12 triangles in the outer area 

Similarly, in region PQRS

There will be two triangles = PQS, SRQ

This is same for 4 more parts = 2 x 4 = 8 

Further,

SQT is another triangle in the figure

Similar 4 triangles are possible

Total number of triangles = 12 + 8 + 4 = 24
