How can the banking sector promote and expand itself in rural sector?

In order to improve the situation of banking sector in rural India, it is suggested that banks need to change their approach from just being lenders to building up relationship with the borrowers. Apart from that all the adults should be encouraged to open bank accounts as a part of a scheme known as Jan Dhan Yojana.
