The simple interest on a sum of money for 10 years is Rs.3130. If the principal becomes 5 times after 5 years, then what will be the total interest obtained after 10 years?

S.I. of 10 years = Rs. 3130

S.I. of 5 years = Rs. 1565

ATQ,

S.I. for first five years = Rs.1565

S.I. for last five years = 5 × 1565                               (Principal ∝ S.I.)

Hence,

S.I. for 10 years = S.I. for 1st five years + S.I. for last five years

                          = 1565 + (5 × 1565)

                          = 6 × 1565

                          = Rs. 9390

Note:- Principal ∝ S.I. : means if principal becomes 5 times then S.I. also becomes 5 times in the same time.
