In the given triangle \(\Delta \)ABC is similar to \(\Delta \)ADE Then according to the theorem Sides, \(\frac{AD}{AB}\) = \(\frac{DE}{BC}\) = Let the length of AB x units. = \(\frac{AB\;+\;BD}{AB}\) = \(\frac{DE}{BC}\) = \(\frac{x\; + \;4}{x}\) = \(\frac{6}{3}\) = 3x + 12 = 6x = 12 = 3x = x = 4 Therefore, the length of AB is 4 units. |
