A and B are two stations 455 km apart. A train starts from station A at 9 am and runs towards station B with a speed of 55 kmph. Another train starts from station B at 10 am and runs towards station A with a speed of 45 kmph. At what time do the trains meet ? |

Till 10 am train A covers distance of 55 km.
So remaining distance (455−5)= 400 km.
Relative speed =(55+45) = 100 km/hr
So time taken to cover 100 km =1 hr.
Therefore to cover 400 km = 4 hrs
Hence the train meet at 10 am +4 hrs =2 pm.
The correct answer is option (1) : 2 pm |
