Question:

If \(\frac{1}{x}\) ∶ \(\frac{1}{y}\) ∶ \(\frac{1}{z}\) = 1 : 2 : 5, then x : y : z = ?

Options:

2 : 3 : 5

10 : 5 : 2

1 : 2 : 5

3 : 5 : 2

Correct Answer:

10 : 5 : 2

Explanation:

\(\frac{1}{x}\) ∶ \(\frac{1}{y}\) ∶ \(\frac{1}{z}\) = 1 : 2 : 5

⇒ x : y : z = \(\frac{1}{1}\) ∶ \(\frac{1}{2}\) ∶ \(\frac{1}{5}\)

⇒ x : y : z = \(\frac{10}{1}\) ∶ \(\frac{10}{2}\) ∶ \(\frac{10}{5}\)

(Multiplying with LCM)

⇒ x : y : z =  10 : 5 : 2
