Question:

When a wire is bent in the form of a square, then the area enclosed by it is 5929 cm². If wire is bent into the form of a circle, then what will be the area enclosed by the wire?

Options:

7546 cm²

8542 cm²

7632 cm²

6954 cm²

Correct Answer:

7546 cm²

Explanation:

The length of the wire is the same

⇒ Perimeter of the square = circumference of the circle

Area of the square(given)  = (side)² = 5929 cm²

                                             side   =  77 cm

Perimeter of the square = 4 x side = 4 x 77 = 308 cm

Circumference of the circle = 2$\pi$r = 2 x $\frac{22}{7}$ x r = 77 x 4

                                                                                   r = 49 cm

Area enclosed by the wire = $\pi r^2$ = $\frac{22}{7} \times 49 \times 49$ = 7546 cm²
