Question:

In an election between two candidates, Ravi gets 65% of total valid votes. If total votes were 6000, what is the number of valid votes that the other candidate Sushil gets, if 25% of total votes were invalid?

Options:

1775

1625

1575

1525

Correct Answer:

1575

Explanation:

25% = \(\frac{1}{4}\) & 65% = \(\frac{13}{20}\)

Total number of votes = 6000

Valid votes =  \(\frac{3}{4}\) × 6000 =  4500

Votes of Ravi = 65% of 4500

= \(\frac{13}{20}\) × 4500 = 2925

So , Votes of Sushil = 4500 - 2925

= 1575
