Ranjeet left from place Sasani at 8:30 AM for Aligarh , and Devsena left Aligarh at 12:30 PM for Sansani .  The distance between both places is 837 kms .  If Ranjeet's speed is 63 km/h and Devsena's speed is 54 km/h , then at what time will they meet each other ?

Options:

5:00 PM

5:30 PM

1:30 PM

12:00 PM

Correct Answer:

5:30 PM

Explanation:

Distance = 837 km

Distance = speed × time

Distance covered by Ranjeet in 4 hours = 63 × 4 = 252 km

Relative speed = 63 + 54 = 117 km/h

Distance left = 837 - 252 = 585 km

           Time = \(\frac{585}{117}\) = 5 h

They would meet at 12:30 + 5 h = 5:30 PM
