Question:

If \(\frac{2sinθ - cosθ}{cosθ + 3sinθ}\) = 1 then value of cotθ is?

Options:

-\(\frac{1}{2}\)

\(\frac{2}{3}\)

\(\frac{1}{2}\)

\(\frac{1}{3}\)

Correct Answer:

-\(\frac{1}{2}\)

Explanation:

\(\frac{2sinθ - cosθ}{cosθ + 3sinθ}\) = 1

⇒ \(\frac{sinθ(2-cotθ)}{sinθ (cotθ + 3)}\) = 1

⇒ 2 - cotθ = cotθ + 3

⇒ 2cotθ = -1

⇒ cotθ = -\(\frac{1}{2}\)
