Question:

The height of a right circular cone is 24 cm. If the radius of its base is 7 cm, then what will be the curved surface area of this cone? [Use π = $\frac{22}{7}$]

Options:

550 cm2

630 cm2

610 cm2

590 cm2

Correct Answer:

550 cm2

Explanation:

We know that,

L2 = R2 + P2

The curved surface area of the cone = πrl

We have,

The height of a right circular cone = 24 cm

The radius of base = 7 cm

L2 = 242 + 72

L =  25 cm

Now, The curved surface area of the cone = \(\frac{22}{7}\) × 7 × 25 = 550cm2

 The cost of painting the curved surface area of the cone = 550 × 6 = Rs. 3300
