The perimeter of a rectangle is 50 cm. Its area and length are in the ratio of 5 : 1. Find the length of the rectangle |
15 cm 20 cm 18 cm 22 cm |
20 cm |
We know that, Perimeter of the rectangle = 2(Length + Breadth) Area of the rectangle = Length × Breadth The perimeter of the rectangle = 50 cm The ratio of area of the rectangle to the length = 5 : 1 Let the length of the rectangle be L Let the breadth of the rectangle be B = 2(L + B) = 50 = L + B = 25 According to the question = (L × B) : L = 5 : 1 = L × (25 - L) = 5L = 25L - L2 = 5L = L = 20 |
