Study the given statements carefully:

(a) Average population size of class - II cities was 87189

(b) Class - I cities have highest concentration of population

(c) Average population size of Class - I cities is less than average population size of Class - II cities.

(d) Number of Class V cities were more than Class - I and II cities together.

(e) Class - II and Class II cities together have less than 20% population.

Choose the most appropriate answer from the options given below:

Options:

(a), (b) and (c) only

(a), (d) and (e) only

(a), (b) and (d) only

(b), (d) and (e) only

Correct Answer:

(a), (b) and (d) only

Explanation:

Average population size of class - II cities = 41328000/474=87189- This option (a) is correct.

Class - I cities have highest concentration of population- This option (b) is correct

Average population size of Class - I cities =227899000/468=486963 which is more than average population size of class-II cities. hence this option (c) is wrong.

No of Class - I and II cities together= 468+474=942 while Number of Class V cities= 1,749. Thus option (d) is correct.

Class - II and Class III cities population together= 41328000+58174000=99502000, Proportion of population of these two cities in respect to entire population= 99502000/377106000*100=26.3%. hence, option (e) is wrong.
