Question:

A is 35% more than B, and B is 33.33% less than C. If C is 25% more than D, then A is what percentage more than D?

Options:

25%

14%

12%

12.5%

Correct Answer:

12.5%

Explanation:

35% = \(\frac{7}{20}\)

33% =  \(\frac{1}{3}\)

25% =  \(\frac{1}{4}\)

                A     :     D

35% ⇒     27    :    20

33.33% ⇒ 2     :     3

25% ⇒     5     :     4

        ———————————

            270     :     240

              27     :    24           = 3 (difference)

A is = \(\frac{3}{24}\) × 100 = 12.5% more than D.
