Question:

If tan A = $\frac{3}{7}$, then what is the value of cosec A ?

Options:

$\frac{2\sqrt{10}}{3}$

$\frac{7\sqrt{10}}{20}$

$\frac{\sqrt{58}}{3}$

$\frac{3}{\sqrt{58}}$

Correct Answer:

$\frac{\sqrt{58}}{3}$

Explanation:

tanA = \(\frac{3}{7}\)    { given }

By using pythagoras theorem ,

P² + B² = H²

3² + 7² = H²

H² = 49 + 9

H² = 58

H = \(\sqrt { 58}\)

Now we find,

cosecA = \(\frac{H}{P}\)

= \(\frac{√58}{3}\)
