The Treaty of Maastricht, formally known as the Treaty on European Union, was signed in 1992 and laid the foundations for the European Union (EU) as we know it today. It established the EU as a political and economic union, creating the framework for a common foreign and security policy, as well as a single currency, the Euro.
ASEAN- The organization was established on August 8, 1967, in Bangkok, Thailand.
SEATO - It was an international organization created in 1954 to provide collective defense against the expansion of communism in Southeast Asia. SEATO became less effective over time and was disbanded in 1977.
CENTO - It was formerly known as the Baghdad Pact, was a defense organization established in 1955. CENTO dissolved in 1979. |
