A and B rent a pasture for 12 months and A puts in 110 cows for 7 months. How many cows can B put in for the remaining 5 months, if he pays half as much as A?

Then, rent for each partners = no. of cows × time

              A      :     B

No.   :   110    :     x

Time :    7      :     5

Rent :  770     :    5x

 So ATQ,

B paid half the rent paid by A = \(\frac{770}{2}\) = 385

⇒ 5x = 385

⇒ x = 77

Therefore, B puts in 77 cows for the rest 5 months.
