Options:

3

4

5

6

Correct Answer:

6

Explanation:

Pocket A:

                         1 Rs.   :    50 p     :      25 p

No. of coins    :    2      :        3      :        5

Value of coins:     2      :     1.5      :      1.25    = 4.75R (total)

Pocket B:

                         50 p    :    25 p     :      10 p

No. of coins    :    3      :       x       :         8

Value of coins:   1.5     :     \(\frac{x}{4}\)      :       0.8    = (2.3 + \(\frac{x}{4}\))R (total)

ATQ,

⇒ \(\frac{4.75}{2.3 + \frac{x}{4}}\) = \(\frac{5}{4}\)

⇒  12.5 +  \(\frac{5}{4}\) x = 19

⇒ \(\frac{5}{4}\) x = 7.5

⇒ x = \(\frac{30}{5}\) = 6
