Question:

The angles of a triangle are in the ratio of 3 : 4 : 8. The triangle is :

Options:

acute angled

isosceles

obtuse angled

right angled

Correct Answer:

obtuse angled

Explanation:

We know that,

The sum of all angles of a triangle is 180°

We have,

The ratio of angles of a triangle is 3: 4 : 8

Let the values of angles be 3x, 4x and 8x

3x + 4x + 8x = 180°

15x = 180°

= x = 12°

3x = 36° , 4x = 48° and 8x = 96°

One of the angles is more than 90°

Then, the triangle will be obtuse angle triangle.
