Question:

X and Y together have ₹1300. If ₹10 less than three-fifth of the amount of X is equal to half of the amount of Y, then how much does X have?

Options:

₹700

₹600

₹550

₹650

Correct Answer:

₹600

Explanation:

X + Y = Rs. 1300,

Y = 1300 - X,

⇒ Here, \(\frac{3x}{5}\) - 10 = \(\frac{1300 - x}{2}\)

⇒ \(\frac{3x}{5}\) - \(\frac{x}{2}\) = 650 + 10

⇒ \(\frac{11x}{10}\) = 660

⇒ x = Rs. 600

Therefore, X have Rs. 600.
