A train passes a pole in 15 seconds and a platform 100 m long in 25 seconds. Then find the length of the train.

150m

Explanation:

Speed = \(\frac{ Distance}{ Time}\)

Let the length of the train be x

According to the question,

Speed = \(\frac{x }{ 15}\) ------1st equation

Speed = \(\frac{\text{x + 100} }{ 25}\) --------2nd equation

Therefore, we can say that:

 \(\frac{x }{ 15}\) =  \(\frac{\text{x + 100} }{ 25}\)

25x = 15x + 1500

10x = 1500

x = 150

So, the length of train is 150 m
