Amuktamalyada is a work on statecraft in Telugu and is written by Krishnadeva Raya. It is a poetic work on the life of Andal, a Tamil Bhakta poetess.
Krishnadeva Raya belonged to the Tuluva dynasty. He was an emperor of the Vijayanagara Empire, reigning from 1509 to 1529.
He was also called the Establisher of the Yavana kingdom.
He founded a suburban township near Vijayanagara called Nagalapuram after his mother.
Domingo Paes described Krishnadeva Raya in the following words- "Of medium height, and of fair complexion and good figure, rather fat than thin; he has on his face signs of smallpox." |
